Hipobuy Size Charts: What to Check Before Ordering
Learn to distinguish body and garment measurements, compare a seller’s size chart, and handle a Hipobuy listing with missing sizing information.
Independent editorial guide Reviewed
On smaller screens, scroll tables sideways to see every column.
Finding a style you like is only the first step. A label such as M, XL or EU 42 does not tell you enough about the measurements of a particular listing. This guide helps you make a comparison and identify missing information; it does not provide a universal Hipobuy size chart.
Check what the chart measures
First establish whether the numbers describe a person’s body or the finished garment. Those are different things. A body chest circumference cannot be compared directly with a shirt’s flat chest width as if they were the same measurement.
For a clear example of the distinction, Nike’s men’s tops chart explicitly describes its figures as body measurements. That chart belongs to Nike’s own sizing system. It is not proof that a third-party listing with a Nike name follows those dimensions.
Check the units as well. Record whether a chart uses centimeters or inches, and whether a waist is measured flat, around the garment, relaxed or stretched. Ask about an unclear label instead of silently converting it into a different measurement.
Compare a garment you already own
For a seller chart that uses garment measurements, choose a similar item whose fit you already like. Lay it flat without pulling it out of shape, then compare using the seller’s stated method. A lightweight tee is not always a useful reference for a jacket intended to go over layers.
| Item type | Measurements worth asking for | An ambiguity to resolve |
|---|---|---|
| T-shirts / Hoodies & sweatshirts | Chest width, body length, shoulder width and sleeve length | Where the sleeve or length measurement starts |
| Jackets | Chest width, body length and sleeve measurement | Whether the intended fit allows your layers |
| Jeans / Pants & trousers | Waist, rise, inseam and leg opening | Flat versus circumference; relaxed versus stretched waist |
| Shorts | Waist, rise and inseam or total length | Whether “length” means inseam or outer length |
| Headwear | Opening measurement and stated fit information | Whether the measurement is relaxed or stretched |
These are questions to ask, not dimensions we have verified for the products in this directory. Our catalog photos alone do not establish fit, stretch, fabric composition or a measurement tolerance.
Check shoe sizing separately
Use the exact seller’s sizing information for the model and option. Confirm the sizing system instead of treating US, UK, EU and a CM label as interchangeable. Do not assume every seller uses the same conversion.
Nike’s footwear chart distinguishes foot length from the CM marking on a shoe box or label. It also explains measuring both feet and using the longer measurement in its own chart. This illustrates why the meaning of a number matters; do not transfer Nike’s conversion to an unverified listing.
If you have an insole measurement, identify it as such. Do not compare it with foot length without understanding what each figure measures. A photograph of a size tag is not a measurement of the shoe’s usable internal space.
When the size chart is missing
A Hipobuy community question describes this exact problem: the buyer likes the item but lacks a size chart. It is a real question, not evidence that one suggested size will work for everyone.
Ask the seller or your agent for information tied to the exact item. A useful request is:
Please confirm the measurements for this product link, color and size. Are these body or garment measurements, in which units, and how were they taken? Please share the seller’s chart or the specific measurements available.
If that cannot be clarified, keep the item marked as an unresolved fit choice. Do not treat another seller’s chart, a model photo or a comment saying “true to size” as a substitute.
A measurement comparison example
The following numbers are invented for practice. They are not a size chart for the hoodie or any other product on this site.
| Flat garment measurement | A tee you own | Hypothetical option A | Hypothetical option B |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chest width | 54 cm | 52 cm | 56 cm |
| Body length | 70 cm | 72 cm | 73 cm |
Using the same method, A is 2 cm narrower than the reference tee, while B is 2 cm wider. Both are longer. That comparison describes differences; it does not prove which will fit you. Shoulder shape, sleeves, stretch and your intended fit still matter.
Keep the original chart or measurement response with your shortlist. Check the final selected variant again before ordering, and use photo checks to identify what the images can and cannot confirm.

Sources & editorial method
Editorial responsibility: Hipobuy Spreadsheet.
We compare saved catalog records with the displayed product names and pictures. Named carrier and measurement facts are linked to their original sources; hypothetical numbers and practice scenarios are labelled.
Content is prepared with AI assistance and checked against the cited material and this directory's implementation. Topic illustrations are identified separately from catalog photos. We do not claim personal purchases or hands-on product tests.
Review dates record substantive editorial checks. Saved catalog prices are references; current options, measurements and service terms need checking with the relevant listing or service.
